Calitek offers a revolutionary and innovative horticultural lighting system!

The ballast and the reflector are combined in a single module for an optimization of the material quality and an incomparable ease of installation.

This electronic ballast is designed with an internal microprocessor in the soft-start lamp and intelligently detects the lamp voltage, current to extend its working hours. The dimmable functions can save energy on both input and output sides. Staggered ignition to be more efficient to avoid inrush current. Perfect self-protection mechanism to extend its life.

DIMMABLE DESIGN

This design can run a lamp at rated power and is composed of a four phase controller to set the ballast output to 190W, 245W, 315W or Super Par, which will increase the brightness by 15%. Be sure to run your lamp continuously at 100% for 10 minutes before switching to other settings. Switching settings quickly can damage the lamp.

OVERHEAT PROTECTION MECHANISM

During operation, internal heat will dissipate through the housing. When the case temperature reaches 85°C, the ballast will gradually reduce the power to 80%; when the case temperature reaches 90°C, the ballast will stop operating until it cools down to 70°C, then return to full power state.

SMART START ™ IGNITION CONTROL

This revolutionary feature, unique to our products, makes the CALITEK digital ballast the safest and most reliable ballast when used in automated multi-lamp applications. When multiple units are connected to the same mains circuit, our integrated ignition control software will fully balance the electrical draw by igniting one lamp at a time to avoid electrical surges and spikes that can overload the mains circuit and trip circuit breaker systems. For added efficiency, this feature is activated in conjunction with our "Soft Start Technology".

SOFT START TECHNOLOGY

Soft Start Technology extends lamp life by stopping the current flow to the lamp and preventing lamp overload. When the ballast starts from cold, there will be a 3 second delay before ignition.

After ignition, there will be a series of random delays of 0-2 seconds before full brightness is reached after approximately 3-5 minutes. SoftStart technology is also activated when you increase and decrease the power to the lamp using the 'Smart-Step' function.

LAMP COMPATIBILITY

The CALITEK digital ballast is suitable for use with all good quality CMH lamps. For a guaranteed perfect combination and the best results, we recommend the CALITEK horticultural lamps: CMH 315W at 3200°K or CMH 315W at 4200°K.

OPERATING TEMPERATURE

The CALITEK housing design acts as a superior heat sink making the ballast extremely cool in operation without the need for internal fans.

COMPLETE IN-CIRCUIT PROTECTION

The CALITEK digital ballast utilizes a sophisticated circuit control system not seen in other manufacturers' ballasts. The system protects against a range of faults including: open circuit protection, short circuit protection, over voltage protection, under voltage protection and over temperature protection. Upon ignition, the ballast performs a 3-second circuit test and, in the event of a fault, the ballast will enter a protection mode to prevent damage to the ballast and lamp.

HIGH ENERGY EFFICIENCY

CALITEK digital ballast is up to 30% more efficient than standard magnetic ballast producing more lumens of light per watt of energy consumed. Efficiency does not decrease and is maintained for the life of the unit.

QUIET OPERATION

The CALITEK digital ballast has no noisy internal fans and is completely silent in operation.

Why use a low frequency square wave ballast?

Low frequency square wave electronic ballast, for better performance of your grow lamp. The square wave technology, chosen by Calitek to power its CMH315W bulbs, is more expensive to manufacture than sine wave technology but provides the most stable power supply for the lamp, which increases lamp performance.

The square wave design provides a constant maximum voltage to the lamp over a long period of time, which produces more photons of light for your plants. The sine wave design, on the other hand, provides maximum voltage to the lamp for a shorter period of time.

The low frequency avoids problems related to RF interference and acoustic resonance (premature lamp failure).
