Zeolite is a volcanic rock with high agronomic potential. Zeolites have an excellent cationic exchange capacity (CEC), and are comparable to nutrient reservoirs protecting them from leaching and releasing them for plant assimilation.

Uses:

• In agriculture, Zeolite is used as a cation retaining agent, micro life, trace elements, and water. Very used for the culture of bonzaï cactus and arid plants, as substrate only.

• In aquariums, the micro cavities that structure this rock constitute an ideal shelter for the proliferation of beneficial aquatic bacteria, while regulating the nitrate level.

• For water filtration (e.g. swimming pools), Zeolite has a major advantage compared to usual filtration agents such as sand. Indeed, sand has a filtration fineness of 40µ whereas Zeolite filters from 5µ. Moreover, zeolite has an excellent filtration capacity for heavy metals.
