How to grow comfrey officinale?

Soil care: moist, rich, well-drained soil.

Exposure: sunny

Sowing: 1 cm deep, make furrows in a row at 30 cm distance between plants. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of fine soil. Keep only one plant every 60 cm approximately.

Watering: regular watering during the first two years, more particularly in case of strong heat.

Raising: slow.

Use: its leaves accelerate the decomposition of the compost.

In purin, it will support the growth and the bloom of your plants. You will use it in particular for fruit vegetables such as squash, zucchini, cucumbers, melons, gherkins... and tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, chillies... On the other hand, it will not be appropriate for leafy vegetables (lettuce, spinach...) which it will risk to go to seed!

By its strong smell, the liquid manure will repel parasites. The leaves can also be used as mulch.
