Sowing and harvesting schedule:
How to grow lavender?
Soil maintenance : dry, sandy and calcareous soil.
Exposure : sunny.
Sowing : sow in a bucket 5 mm deep, at a temperature close to 25°C, then plant in autumn one plant every 40 cm in staggered rows.
Emergence: in 20 to 30 days.
Watering: at the plantation then little frequent.
Flowering : pick the flowers and the stems in summer.
Origin : coming from the west of the Mediterranean basin, lavender was already used by the Romans to preserve the linen and to perfume the baths. In Provence, lavender was used in the Middle Ages for the composition of perfumes and medicines, but it is from the 19th century that its culture developed.
